The making and exhibition of the world’s largest Enochian chess set took place in July 2003. It measured 18 feet x 18 feet. The vibrant chess set had its obscure origins in Enochian magic first practised by Elizabethan court astrologer Dr John Dee. Each square upon the board denoted an elemental attribute and therefore an
angelic spirit. Later The Victorian Golden Dawn Magical Order took the Enochian magical system and created the first chess set, that allowed a combination of divination, magic and board game to be used by serious magicians.

The chess set (the water board) was activated and seconds later the sunny skies turned black and a tropical type deluge erupted – who says magick doesn’t work?
