A lifetime magician with the benefit of a non-religious upbringing, Jaq D Hawkins spent much of her early life studying the various paths of magic and looking for the basis of the magic itself, and those elements which were shared in common among the various approaches. This quest eventually led to chaos magic. Along the way, she observed the ways in which the witches and magicians she met related to magic, as well as her own developing relationship with the magic itself as an entity, a trickster figure which would respond to the attitude of the magician. This entity was personified in ‘Chaos Monkey’, her seventh book. Jaq is also the author of the popular ‘Spirits of the Elements’ series, and ‘Understanding Chaos Magic’, and more recently this remarkable lady has explored film.
